    Laser 8617 is a specialised socket for removing and installing the Tesla transmission oil filter. It is designed for servicing the transmission oil filters of the Tesla Model 3, Model S, Model Y and Model X and provides a precise grip on the filter, reducing the risk of damage to the filter or tool.

    Tesla vehicles use a screw-in transmission oil filter. Rear-wheel-drive (RWD) models have one filter in the rear transmission, while all-wheel-drive (AWD) models use two filters — one in the front transmission and one in the rear transmission.

    Laser 8617 is manufactured with a 63.8 mm diameter and 14 points, providing an accurate fit on the filter housing. The socket can be used with 1/2" drive tools, including a torque wrench, to tighten the new filter to the torque specified by the manufacturer.
