With the BRILLIANT TOOLS installation tool for shock absorbers with tension stop springs BT651100, the McPherson spring struts can be stretched to the maximum length required and a new spring can quickly and easily be secured into position. The tool is especially suited for spring struts that are equipped with strong inner springs (tension stop springs), which the piston rods pull partially into the damper tubes. Tension stop springs installed in some shock absorbers (spring struts) are intended to prevent damage to the spring struts if they “spring up and out” during driving. The spring is directly inside the shock absorber and is not strained when the vehicle remains parked while in gear, despite the load. The spring only activates when the spring strut reaches full extension during compression. Using tension stop springs has otherwise no effect on normal spring functions. However, there is a clear disadvantage when removing and installing the spring strut because the piston rods reaches the spring strut after the spring load is removed. In this way, installing a new spring is difficult because the spring strut does not remain compressed. The set is suitable for most shock absorbers with tension stop springs, such as BMW, MB, Toyota, Nissan, Fiat, Peugeot, Ford etc.
