Welding machine MIG/MAG 160 M (5 in 1)
The STAHLWERK MIG/MAG-160 M is a compact, versatile inverter for anyone looking for a lightweight but fully-fledged wire welder with additional functions. Weighing just 6.8 kg and with a welding current range of 20-160 A, the device covers MIG/MAG gas-shielded arc welding, FLUX flux-cored wire welding, MMA/E-Hand and DC-Lift-TIG - all from a standard 230 V socket. The modern IGBT technology ensures a stable arc, high efficiency and robust performance in daily use. In MIG/MAG and FLUX mode, the MIG/MAG-160 M processes wires in the standard diameters 0.6 / 0.8 / 1.0 mm and 0.9 mm (cored wire). Commercially available 1 kg wire coils can be processed here. The spool mandrel can accommodate 16 mm spools. The wire speed automatically adjusts to the set welding current, resulting in a uniform penetration with stable arc control. The polarity of the device can be easily reversed for flux-cored wire welding without gas. The device can also be used to solder CuSi3 wire. In addition to wire welding, the device is also capable of classic MMA/e-hand welding with coated stick electrodes. Hotstart facilitates ignition, anti-stick reduces the current in the event of a short circuit so that the electrode does not anneal and can be detached from the workpiece more easily. In combination with an optional WP-17V lift TIG torch, the MIG/MAG-160 M can also be used as a DC TIG device with contact ignition - ideal for finer, cleaner seams on steel and stainless steel. It is operated via a clear front panel with digital display, selection of welding process and wire diameter. Integrated overheating protection with control LED and intelligent smart cooling with powerful fan protect the electronics and enable a practical duty cycle of up to 60 % at 80 A and 100 % at 62 A (at 40 °C ambient temperature). The robust ST-Guard housing makes the device resistant to everyday workshop use and transportation.
